Celebrating One Year of Partnership Between YWCA St. Paul and Element Gym

Last April, YWCA St. Paul welcomed Element Gym, a premier boutique boxing gym, into our Health & Fitness Center. The partnership began when YWCA St. Paul CEO Ashley Booker reached out to other community health organizations shortly after joining YW. In searching for potential partners that were, like YW, devoted to racial justice, equity, and BIPOC health outcomes, Dalton Outlaw’s name was mentioned again and again.

Outlaw and Booker soon realized just how compatible the organizations’ missions were with each other. “We’re both born and raised St. Paul kids,” Booker said. “Both of us are so passionate about taking care of the city that raised us.”

Element Gym officially relocated to YWCA St. Paul’s Health & Fitness Center in April 2024.  Since then, this collaboration has resulted in more than 30 additional class offerings, more equipment for members, and a fitness hub that is abuzz with a new, vibrant energy.

“We love how welcoming the members of the Health & Fitness Center have been,” added Dalton Outlaw, owner of Element Gym. “It’s been exciting to see members trying out our classes, loving them, and then recruiting their friends to join in!”

Now, one year later, we invite you to join in celebrating with us by participating in our month-long Punch-a-Thon Challenge that begins on May 1. [information about the challenge]
