Specialty fitness classes offer specific and/or advanced instruction to members and non-members of all ages. Visit our member portal to register for specialty classes. Click the button below to view the latest class schedule.

Pilates Reformer Classes

Improve spatial awareness, balance, whole-body strength and flexibility with Pilates Reformer Classes, a core-focused workout where traditional Pilates reformer exercises and contemporary bio-mechanics meet.

Mat Pilates Classes

Strengthen your core, improve your posture and gain balance with Mat Pilates classes with Fran.

Pilates Reformer Classes

YWCA St. Paul now has drop-in Pilates Restorative Reformer classes. Set your own class schedule by paying as you go (or purchase a class pack at a discount and reserve your spot in class as needed.)

Two class levels available:

  • Restorative Reformer Essentials for those brand new to the Reformer.
  • Restorative Reformer Experienced for those who are already experienced using the Reformer.

Restorative Reformer Essentials

Tuesdays, 3:30–4:30 p.m. (Jennifer)
Wednesdays, Noon–1 p.m. (Elisabeth)
Thursdays, 11 a.m.–Noon (Jennifer)

Restorative Reformer Experienced

Tuesdays, 6–7 p.m. (Jennifer)
Wednesdays, 9:15–10:15 a.m. (Jennifer)

To save your spot in one of these classes, please register following the instructions in the “How to register” tab. Are you new to Pilates Reformer classes at YW? Please arrive 15 minutes early to class to complete your class registration at the Member Services Desk.

Pay as you go with drop-in passes or purchase a class pack at a discount and reserve your class spot later:

  • Drop-In Pass: $25 ($28 non-members)
  • 5-Class Pack: $100 ($140 Non-members)
  • 10-Class Pack: $180 ($280 Non-members)
  • 50-Class Pack: $800 ($1,400 Non-members)

Select a drop-in pass or use a package class, then follow the prompts to check out. Class packs available for purchase at Member Services Desk only. Specialty Class Descriptions

All specialty classes are held in-person at YWCA St. Paul. Spaces are limited, reserve your spot today!

Taekwondo (Youth/Adult)

Ram's Taekwondo teaches YW's Taekwondo classes. Our vision is to empower the community members: we provide healthy physical activity with teachings of respect and mental discipline to overcome difficult tasks. Classes may be mixed with youth and adults.

Mat Pilates: Intermediate

Move beyond the basics with more advanced exercises and at a faster pace. Previous Pilates experience is strongly recommended.

Pilates Reformer: Intermediate

Improve spatial awareness, balance, whole-body strength and flexibility with Pilates reformer exercises. Previous Pilates Reformer experience is strongly recommended.

Piranhas Swim Team (Youth)

The Piranhas swim team offers a range of great options for kids to develop skills and build confidence.

Swimming Lessons (Youth)

YW offers group swimming lessons for infants up to youth aged 12 at a variety of levels. Classes are designed to be fun while building water confidence and swimming technique.

Aqua Boot Camp

This fast-paced class uses circuits to improve your stamina, strength, power and speed. Workouts take place both in and out of the water using tubing, dumbbells, aqua-belts and noodles. Aqua shoes are strongly recommended for this creative high-energy class!

Women on Weights

Group training designed especially for women. Participants learn the most effective ways to tone muscles, how to incorporate free weights into a strength training routine & how to create an efficient, safe weight training program.

Begin Again Yoga

Yoga isn’t for everyone but it’s open to anyone. It’s not just the poses that ease stress but you might find comfort just spending time around like-minded people. It’s all about a positive attitude and a willingness to try.

Sense of Balance

Looking to improve your balance? Research shows that balance exercises for seniors can significantly reduce risk of falls. The good news is that exercises, stretches and balance training can lower your risk of falling.

Health & Fitness Center (HFC) Members can use our online Member Portal to register for specialty classes.
