Dr. Yohuru Williams, YWCA St. Paul’s Board Chair takes a straightforward approach to allocating his time. “Part of my calculation is to ask, where is the greatest need and where can I have the greatest impact? Where I allocate my time is influenced by where I can create ripples—ripples that amplify the work that’s already being done.”
Ramsey County and YWCA St. Paul are teaming up to hold a free COVID-19 vaccination event at our Health & Fitness Center (HFC). Clinicians from Community Clinics will be administering the Pfizer (2 dose) vaccine on August 27 between 5:00 – 7:00 pm (first dose) and on September 17 between 5:00 – 7:00 pm (second dose).
YWCA St. Paul thanks the amazing volunteers from Thomson Reuters for their time and effort in helping to transform our Oxford property. The volunteers painted the hallways of the three buildings and renovated the playground by cleaning up weeds and laying new rubber mulch.

YWCA St. Paul thanks Kohl’s Woodbury for donating 5 boxes (close to 500 units) of beauty merchandise. The assortment of products, including makeup bags, skin care and makeup, will be provided to our Housing and individual participants.
La’Shante (Shaunie) Grigsby, YWCA St. Paul’s Youth Programs Manager, is set to open Flava Café, the first Black-owned coffee shop in St. Paul’s Frogtown neighborhood. Scheduled to open in October, Flava Café will be located at Frogtown Crossroads, a development on the northwest corner of University Avenue and Dale Street.
YWCA St. Paul extends our heartfelt gratitude to Roundel™, Target’s in-house media company, for the invitation to present to the Roundel team. Deena Zubulake, YWCA St. Paul’s Director of Programs, discussed a variety of racial justice programs and opportunities at YWCA St. Paul, including the 21 Day Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge.
Familiar to taking leaps of faith, Liesl Kistow joined the board of YWCA St. Paul to help give back to the community. Her corporate strategic knowledge combined with her compassion make her an invaluable resource.
